Anonymous: A Question From A Sister

Good morning, Pastor. Please, I have this thought and want to know if it's wrong. When I see people doing things, even if what they are doing is right, I don't want to follow it or do the same because they are the ones doing it. If it's people I know who are doing the same thing, then I will also follow it or do it. I would kindly like to know if it's a spirit, worrying me or it's OK. God bless you

Pastor Idun: A Question From A Sister

It's not O. K. It's a spirit that does not like to follow but lead. It's a spirit that always wants to lead or be recognised. It's a combination of pride and selfishness presented in a subtle way, so pray against it.

There are people who don't appreciate anything unless they are part of it or unless they are playing a leading role. That is not the Spirit of Christ. Pray about it. I'll support you in prayer too.

God bless you Pastor
Please I have a follow up question on the tithing

Pastor, please I sincerely believe that prove me now herewith is an essential emphasis. I believe it translates to “If you will do your part, I will do My part. Put Me to the test. Just like every word. David said in Psalm 119:49 Remember the word unto thy servant, Upon which thou hast caused me to hope. I believe he was reminding God that his hope is solely based upon his words. It is also written in proverbs 19 that He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again. I think its when he will do his part thats uncertain. He never stated how quickly he will release the blessing. I think its the same thing as praying, as he said in Luke 18, And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? Just like when I pray I need have it at the back of my mind that he will answer because he said so not because I deserve it but because his words give us a right to it.

“And blessed is…are they that do all His commandments, that they might have a right to enter into the Life, the Tree of Life.” 61-0723E - God Being Misunderstood

Pastor Idun: From a Brother

This is beautifully said. I like the way you quoted Sriptures and the Message. I like that!

As I said earlier, we should always expect good things from the LORD because He promised them to us.

My emphasis is on the APPROACH and the ATTITUDE with which we give to the LORD.

Brother Branham said if he knows the LORD will send him to hell, he will still love and serve Him. In other words, he's not serving the LORD because he knows the Lord will take him to heaven. But he is serving Him because he loves Him.

So if everything we do for Him is done by LOVE for Him, then we're getting it right.

We have no doubt He will honour His WORD concerning us because He's God.

Consider this scenario:
A brother does all he can for the LORD because he loves Him. He also believes that when he honours the WORD of the Lord, he will be rewarded as the LORD has promised.

Another brother is also serving the LORD just as the first brother is serving Him. But he is serving the LORD because of what he will get from Him, not because he loves Him. He knows the LORD does not fail His promise, so he serves Him to benefit from Him.

Which of these brothers would you like to be? I believe you would like to be the brother who serves the LORD because he loves Him.

I would like you to see tithing in this light. You are obeying the Scriptures because you love Him.

I hope this illustration helps?

Please, pastor, if I pay my tithe and live anyhow, will I still prosper because I am obeying the scripture of prosperity?

Pastor Idun: A Question From A Sister

No, a Christian cannot live anyhow!

We are supposed to fulfil all righteousness. That means that we are supposed to obey the WORD of God in full, then the blessings will come.

When Abraham finally fully obeyed God by separating himself from his kinsfolk (lot), then his blessings came.

We are not supposed to add or take away from the WORD as and when it pleases us.

A person who is born of the WORD and of the SPIRIT cannot live anyhow. It will be his/her joy to live by EVERY WORD.

A Christian who lives by every WORD will pay tithe as well if they receive any income, gift, etc.

God bless you Pastor
Please a follow up question. In the Bible God said "Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it."
So my question is if He said we should prove Him, is it wrong to be in expectation of the blessing?

Please, my other question is if God is a jealous God, how does jealousy become a sin.
God bless you

Pastor Idun: A Question From A Sister

It is not wrong at all to expect good things from the LORD. In fact, we must be under expectation to receive from the Him. We should be expecting His blessings, not because we deserve it.

What I was saying was that don't pay your tithes and think that because you have paid your tithes, God owes you. God can owe no man. It's all about ATTITUDE. WE ARE NOT EXCHANGING OUR TITHES WITH HIS BLESSINGS! That's what I meant.

Our attitude should be such that we obey His WORD because we love Him. So whether we're seeing His blessings now or not, we'll still serve Him and obey His WORD because we love Him.

But we should be expecting His blessings all the time because no man can outgive God.

He will give us exceedingly abundantly above what we ask for.

There are two kinds of jealousy. There is a godly jealousy and a hatred jealousy.

The one God has is the godly one. God doesn't want to share His children with any other spirit. He is jealous over them.

A husband who is jealous over his wife doesn't want to share her with another man. In the same way, a wife who loves her husband doesn't want to share him with any other woman. That's godly jealousy.

Hatred jealousy is the opposite of godly jealousy. A person with hatred jealousy doesn't want any other person to be blessed above them. That spirit is not of God. A Christian should wish others well and actually be happy when others are doing well. THAT IS THE SPIRIT OF CHRIST!

Please a follow up question, what is the secret to prosperity?

Saturday, 16 December 2023
Pastor Idun: A Follow-up Question

The secret to prosperity is what God has prescribed in His Word in Malachi 3.

He said if we pay our tithes faithfully, He will rebuke the devourer for our sake. This means there is a devourer who hangs around to devour any blessing that's supposed to come to us. He waits for "the time of harvest" when we are about to reap some blessings, then he comes and devours that.

But when we pay our tithes and believe that what God has said will come to pass, we'll reap the goodness of the Lord.

My advice to you, however, is that don't pay tithe as something you are doing for God for Him to pay you back. Pay your tithes as obedience to the WORD and God will keep His Word
