Anonymous: A Question From A Brother

God bless you, pastor. Please, I want to know if song leading is also an office in the church and if anyone who has the desire in their hearts can become song leaders. Please can song leaders be carnal people. Please, what is the process of giving people positions in the church.  Thank you, sir.

Pastor Idun: A Question From A Brother

No, song leading is not an office in the church. It's a ministry on its own, just as the music department is also a ministry. That is why song leaders are supposed to be in prayer and must be in the spirit at all times and not be engaged in worldly things.

Song leading is not for a show. A song leader must be a spiritual person in order to lift up the spirit of others in the church. If song leaders get carnal, it affects their song leading.

They are to worship and lead songs as the prophet said and prepare the people for the Word.

Carnal song leaders quench the spirit, and the people do not benefit but end up complaining about them, and that is why carnal people can't be song leaders.

The pastor observes the conduct and level of spiritual growth of the people before giving them positions.

This can be changed at any time when the pastor realises such individuals are getting out of line or making the running of the ministry difficult.

We must always do things to allow the spirit of God to flow freely in the church, and anything that will take that away must be cut off.

If a person desires to lead songs, he can let the pastor know about it, and the pastor will pray and act as the Lord leads, and not because the person has the desire to do something. I want the spirit of God to lead His church. Like I always say, Mount Sunset Country Church belongs to the Lord, and no man will ever own It. He sets the pastor there to be the head of His church and officers, helps and governments to help carry out His work.

Every position in the church is unique, and the requirement for each is different. However, there are some positions in the church that require the people to be married, for instance, ministers, deacons, trustees, treasurers, and Sunday school superintendent. Others such as song leaders and other workers do not so much require for the people to be married.

All these offices and workers must live Christian lives, and the married ones must be loyal to their wives. They must always be at their post of duties at all times.

The pastor can't appoint someone for a position when he knows very well that the person is not faithful in the things of God and is not at church at all times.

In closing, the pastor must know his congregation well enough to give them positions and must also be strong enough to take them off their positions if he realises they are not pillars but caterpillars who are not there to help but to destroy.

Hope this helps. I will be sending you some quotes of the prophet soon to buttress some of these points.

In a message Thirsting for Life preached in 1959 paragraph 42, the prophet prayed a prayer. " Bless this little Beulah Temple. Bless it's lovely pastor, and all of its deacons, and the board, and all the laity. May it long stand as a memorial to Jesus Christ and to His cause. May from here go missionaries and - and ministers that'll help evangelize the world. Bless every effort that they put forth. And these brethren here, and the sisters from Canada, the- the song leaders, and - and the musicians, we pray, Lord, that You'll bless their ministry. Make it rich, Father. Give them souls for their hire because we believe that's the desire of their hearts. "

Anonymous: A Question From A Brother

God bless you, Pastor. Please, if I take an item from someone without asking and don't own up and the person pronounces a curse on the person who took the item, will it affect me?

If I confess it to God and pray about it for God to forgive me, will the curse go away, or do I need to go and make it right with the person I took the item from. And please, in a situation where I didn't take the item but know who took it but kept quiet, will something happen to me? Thank you Pastor.

Pastor Idun: A Question From A Brother

If you take another person's property or item without the owner's knowledge or concern, it is stealing. It is even worse when you don't own up to the theft.

The Bible admonishes us to ask for anything we want, and it will be given to us. That applies to everything. As a Christian, you must never take anything from someone without asking, no matter who the person is.

If the person curses you, it may affect you because you have willingly gone out from God's protection.

Praying to God for forgiveness will not be enough until you confess to the person for forgiveness.

Life has consequences, and what we sow is what we reap.

Again, if you are not the one who stole but know about the theft and decide to keep it a secret, God will not forgive you because God hates people who hide sin.

Anonymous: A Question From A Brother

God bless you, pastor. Please if you know that a married man in a message church is having an affair with a single sister in the same church whilst the wife of the married man doesn't know and you don't know how to approach it, can you tell your pastor about it so that your pastor can call them and advise or you can confront them yourself.

Please, I will also like to know how God sees that single sister and the married man.

Pastor Idun: A Question From A Brother

If anyone knows any situation like that, the person should not even wait for a minute to let the Pastor know because it is a great sin before the Lord for anyone to indulge in such immoral conduct.

Since we don't know what tomorrow holds, sin must be dealt with quickly before it's too late.

How does God see such people? He sees them as hell-bound people until they completely and thoroughly repent.

The Bible says those who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

Anyone who knows any situation like that in any church and keeps quite over it without letting the Pastor know is a person who condones sin. God will not be happy with him/her too.

Anonymous: A Question From A Sister

Good morning, Pastor. Please, I have this thought and want to know if it's wrong. When I see people doing things, even if what they are doing is right, I don't want to follow it or do the same because they are the ones doing it. If it's people I know who are doing the same thing, then I will also follow it or do it. I would kindly like to know if it's a spirit, worrying me or it's OK. God bless you

Pastor Idun: A Question From A Sister

It's not O. K. It's a spirit that does not like to follow but lead. It's a spirit that always wants to lead or be recognised. It's a combination of pride and selfishness presented in a subtle way, so pray against it.

There are people who don't appreciate anything unless they are part of it or unless they are playing a leading role. That is not the Spirit of Christ. Pray about it. I'll support you in prayer too.

God bless you Pastor
Please I have a follow up question on the tithing

Pastor, please I sincerely believe that prove me now herewith is an essential emphasis. I believe it translates to “If you will do your part, I will do My part. Put Me to the test. Just like every word. David said in Psalm 119:49 Remember the word unto thy servant, Upon which thou hast caused me to hope. I believe he was reminding God that his hope is solely based upon his words. It is also written in proverbs 19 that He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again. I think its when he will do his part thats uncertain. He never stated how quickly he will release the blessing. I think its the same thing as praying, as he said in Luke 18, And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? Just like when I pray I need have it at the back of my mind that he will answer because he said so not because I deserve it but because his words give us a right to it.

“And blessed is…are they that do all His commandments, that they might have a right to enter into the Life, the Tree of Life.” 61-0723E - God Being Misunderstood

Pastor Idun: From a Brother

This is beautifully said. I like the way you quoted Sriptures and the Message. I like that!

As I said earlier, we should always expect good things from the LORD because He promised them to us.

My emphasis is on the APPROACH and the ATTITUDE with which we give to the LORD.

Brother Branham said if he knows the LORD will send him to hell, he will still love and serve Him. In other words, he's not serving the LORD because he knows the Lord will take him to heaven. But he is serving Him because he loves Him.

So if everything we do for Him is done by LOVE for Him, then we're getting it right.

We have no doubt He will honour His WORD concerning us because He's God.

Consider this scenario:
A brother does all he can for the LORD because he loves Him. He also believes that when he honours the WORD of the Lord, he will be rewarded as the LORD has promised.

Another brother is also serving the LORD just as the first brother is serving Him. But he is serving the LORD because of what he will get from Him, not because he loves Him. He knows the LORD does not fail His promise, so he serves Him to benefit from Him.

Which of these brothers would you like to be? I believe you would like to be the brother who serves the LORD because he loves Him.

I would like you to see tithing in this light. You are obeying the Scriptures because you love Him.

I hope this illustration helps?
